The goal of the Alpinestars Supertech helmet family was to create the most advanced, protective and high-performance helmets for riders worldwide. With the S-M10, Alpinestars' helmet development team engineered the helmet to provide the perfect blend of superior ventilation and unmatched comfort to create a helmet with the lightest possible weight without compromising in other areas. The S-M10 design offers a smooth, attractive, aerodynamic profile that is streamlined and free of external profiles and features that could act as a stress point in an impact or compromise the overall integrity of the helmet design. The surface curvature promotes less friction on impact, allowing deflection and the most efficient transfer of energy to protect the rider's head from direct force on the skull, neck and spine.
Features:
The S-M10 shell sizing solution ensures that each helmet size has its own matching shell size to deliver the best anatomical solution for the diverse fit needs worldwide. With 4 different helmet shell sizes S, M, L and XL and 6 consumer sizes from XS to XXL, it ensures that the rider has the right fit that not only improves comfort and reduces overall weight, but more importantly improves the effectiveness of the helmet in an impact.
The helmet shell construction uses a state-of-the-art molding technology with a multi-composite combination: 3K carbon, an outer layer of high-density carbon that improves strength and energy dissipation efficiency across the shell, a unidirectional carbon composite layer that provides significantly greater radial strength around the shell and prevents compression but allows controlled deflection to reduce transmitted impact energy, and an aramid fiber layer that provides critical penetration protection. This layer combination is made even more powerful by an epoxy resin compound that provides the best possible strength and energy management. The limited deflection of the outer shell means that energy spreads further and is better absorbed by the 4-way densified EPS liner.
The result of the unique shell construction process used in the design of the S-M10 is extremely effective impact protection. The S-M10 provides linear and oblique impact performance that exceeds the current standard limits for helmets. In a direct linear impact, i.e. an impact at a 90-degree angle between the helmet and an object, the S-M10 exceeds the new 2024 ECE 22.06 standard by an average of 46% at normal speed impacts. New to the ECE 22.06 standard are the requirements for low and high-speed linear impacts, where the S-M10 outperforms the new ECE 22.06 standards for peak linear acceleration by 23% and 28% respectively.
For rotational acceleration and performance in an oblique impact, where the impact energy comes from an angle other than a linear 90-degree or perpendicular straight impact, the S-M10 exceeds the new ECE standard 22.06 for peak rotational acceleration by 76%.
The new profile of the revised chin guard, where the lower area has been specially shaped to create a relief area that leaves the collarbone free, with a new softer EPS liner that extends beyond the actual helmet shell and is covered by a more flexible rubber compound that reduces the risk of collarbone injury.
Removable side pads made of a semi-soft polymer for added protection provide a larger contact area to disperse impact energy.
The patented A-Head Fitment System allows easy adjustment of the angle and height at which the helmet sits on the head.
Ultra-ventilated helmet with 28 individual air inlets and outlets, excluding the field of vision, with 18 air inlets and 10 outlets.
MIPS, Multi-directional Impact Protection System (protection system for falls with oblique impact).
ERS system to remove the visor in case of emergency and a new visor extension to protect against sun and dust.
The new Eject technology includes the Eject helmet removal system.
